Warm-ups for Holistic Learning
Planet Visualization (2 ~ 3 minutes)
Climate Justice Boxing (2 ~ 3 minutes)
Visualization is a powerful mental exercise. In our lesson we can start with visualizing our planet Earth, also visualizing carbon emissions from fossil fuels. As we then create an inner image of reducing emissions and restoring balance in the Earth’s system, we can do some boxing movements with some chanting to boost our confidence that we will help the planet.
We can also choose a word to chant in various languages to give us a sense of united global citizenship that we could do at the end of the lesson. Then we could do a “word of the week” and change the word each week.
These creative ways to open and close the lessons should be very good to allow different angles in the student’s learning.
